== Overview ==

The raster data group, aka ''rasdaGroup'', focuses its research on database-enabled Web services for very large, multi-dimensional raster data. Such data appear as sensor, image, and statistics data in many applications, such as geo sciences (ex: 1-D sensor time series, 2-D satellite maps, 3-D x/y/t satellite image time series and x/y/z exploration data, 4-D x/y/z/t climate and ocean data) and life sciences (ex: human brain imaging, gene expression analysis).

On top of this raster DBMS, Web-based raster services for geo and life science applications are being investigated.
